Luca Capannesi was born on April 4, 1971 in Greve in Chianti (Florence); he graduated in Telecommunications in 1990 at the Technical Institute "Leonardo da Vinci" in Florence.
Since 1993, he is engaged in the technical staff of the University of Florence; since 1996 he has joined the Radar and Millimeter Waves Laboratory of the Department of Engineering Information.
He is a member of GTTI (Group National Telecommunications and Information Theory) and CNIT (National Inter-University Consortium for Telecommunications), working within several research projects. Since 2001, he has supported measures with laser equipment "Gasfinder" (Boreal Laser Inc.) for the  CO2 monitoring.
He is in charge of
the computer network and the network security of the Department.
His p
rofessional skills are: technical equipments, network computer and applications (web, email and file sharing server), operating systems (Linux, BSD and MS Windows), network and systems security (sniffers, portscan, Intrusion Detection Systems), data recovery, systems virtualization software.
Among
the training courses he attended, the most relevant are: "Advanced Internet", "Internet Security", "Security of Wireless Networks", "Security Systems and IDS", "Advanced Administration of the Linux Operating System", "Cisco Network Academy CCNA Security", "Protocols and Network Infrastructures - Advanced", "IPv6 Network Protocol Administration - Advanced", "Bash Scripting in Linux".
In 2012, he was a lecturer for the course "Security Systems and IDS on Linux Operating System" for the technical staff of the University of Florence.
He has got the "European Computer Driving Licence - NEW ECDL FULL STANDARD" and the LPI "Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1"
