COURSE ORGANISATION

The PhD  course is a three-year degree programme arranged in semesters. Here follows a description of the activities envisaged for each semester. Further details are provided in the following paragraphs.
 
SEMESTER I
  • Inter-disciplinary cultural broadening seminars
  • Foreign Language Courses
  • Research-oriented Seminars
  • Bibliographical surveys and possibility for personal curriculum-based studies
  • Personal preparation & Integration through attendance at courses provided at the different PhD seats
SEMESTER II
  • Inter-disciplinary cultural broadening seminars
  • Research-oriented Seminars
  • Definition of Research Theme & possible proposed Methodologies
  • Personal preparation & Integration through attendance at courses provided at the different PhD seats
  • Annual Report & Proposal Discussion
SEMESTER III
  • Series of Specific Seminars on Proposed Theme or, alternatively, Period Abroad
  • Development of the assigned original research 
SEMESTER IV
  • Presentation of Personal Research Theme or,  alternatively, continuation of Period Abroad
  • Development of the assigned original research
  • Annual Report & State of Research Development
SEMESTERS V & VI
  • Development & Conclusion of Original Research (PhD Thesis)
  • Awarding of PhD Degree

In the development of the assigned Research Themes, it is envisaged that each candidate be part of the mixed work-groups made-up of candidates based on the similarity of the themes treated, so as to promote an indepth study of the themes of an inter-disciplinary nature.
